Former UFC flyweight title challenger Wilson Reis showed that there’s still plenty of life in his career as he submitted Toby Misech in the featherweight main event of Cage Warriors 166 in San Diego.

Reis and Misech faced off in the headline bout at the Sycuan Casino Resort in San Diego, with the California-based Brazilian producing the latest in a string of impressive displays in the famous yellow Cage Warriors gloves to claim the 13th submission finish of his career.

Reis stunned Misech with a big punch then, as the action went to the mat, the Brazilian went to work as he swiftly moved into mount and set about working himself towards a submission. It didn’t take long before he locked up an arm triangle choke to force Misech to tap at the 3:02 mark of the opening round as Reis claimed the 28th win of his 17-year pro-MMA career.

Also on the card, former two-division Cage Warriors champion Mason Jones made it three stoppage wins in a row since his return to the promotion, thanks to a second-round TKO of Bryce Logan.

Jones delivered a typically high-octane performance as he overwhelmed Logan with Muay Thai strikes to claim his third straight TKO finish in the Cage Warriors cage. You can bet he’ll be gunning for a shot at his old lightweight title – or a potential return to the UFC – sooner rather than later.

The card also saw a big stoppage win for rising prospect Chasen Blair, who needed just 129 seconds to finish Orlando Sanders in his welterweight matchup.
