Reigning Brave CF bantamweight champion Nkosi Ndebele turned up the heat ahead of his eagerly-anticipated title trilogy bout with Jose Torres at Brave CF 82 as he vowed to “destroy” the former champion in their third meeting.
After losing via split decision in his first bout with Torres at Brave CF 73 last August, Ndebele came roaring back in the rematch to stop Torres in the third round at Brave CF 80, forcing “Shorty” to quit due to the damage inflicted by the South African.
It saw Ndebele achieve his dream of becoming Brave CF champion. But the rivalry with Torres is far from over, and after both men publicly declared their desire to settle the score once and for all, a trilogy matchup was booked for Brave CF 82, which takes place in Mauritius on Saturday, May 11.
And, after his decisive win in the rematch, Ndebele is in bullish mood as he prepares to face his rival for a third time in three fights.
“Nkosi now is seven times more than Nkosi in the first fight,” he warned.
“Over the years, I have developed the hunger for it, I’ve enjoyed it more, you know? And now, the goal is even bigger and the improvement is even more. So, the only thing that I can say the difference is, the Nkosi now who is the champion, is seven times more than the first Nkosi, but the hunger is still the same.”
The bout will see their fighting trilogy complete a remarkable hat-trick, with each fight taking place on a different continent. The first meeting took place in Bogota, Colombia, while the rematch was held in Isa Town, Bahrain.
Now, with the trilogy bout taking place in Mauritius, it means that Ndebele will get to defend his title on African soil as the promotion continues to take its special brand of mixed martial arts across the globe.
And Ndebele is adamant that the result in the trilogy fight will be even more emphatic than in the rematch, with “King” looking to claim the eighth win, and sixth knockout victory, of his career on Saturday night.
“I am gonna hurt ‘Shorty’. I am gonna destroy him,” he warned.
“Honestly, I know it is one thing, but when I see or when I think about the match, I am gonna hurt ‘Shorty’ and I am going to finish him, spectacularly.
“I am excited, man. That is all I can say. I am really excited.”
