The official weigh-ins for Cage Warriors 171 in Glasgow, Scotland passed off without too much drama, as the 16-bout card was locked in for Saturday night at the Braehead Arena.

The main event of the evening will see a pivotal matchup in the Cage Warriors lightweight division, as Scotland’s Chris Bungard takes on Italy’s Dumitru Girlean, while former bantamweight title challenger Reece McEwan takes on Cameron Else in the bantamweight co-main event bout.

All 12 fighters on the main card successfully made weight without issue, with Bungard coming in at 155.4 pounds compared to Girlean’s 154.3. McEwan tipped the scale bang on championship weight, at 135 pounds, while Else came in marginally heavier, at 135.9.

Nineteen of the 20 preliminary card fighters hit their contracted weights, with just one fighter missing his mark on the scale. That man was Jamie MacDonald, who came in at 209 pounds for his light heavyweight bout with Nell Ariano, who hit 204.8. With MacDonald three pounds over the non-title limit, the fighter received a fine, but the two fight camps, and the promotion, agreed that the fight should proceed, as planned.
