The top two fights at UFC Fight Night in Mexico City have major championship implications, and all four fighters made weight with ease for their respective matchups.

The event at Arena CDMX will feature a flyweight bout as its headliner, with Mexico’s own former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno taking on former title challenger Brandon Royval, and both men hit the non-title flyweight limit of 126 pounds when they took to the scale at Friday’s official weigh-ins.

The co-main attraction will pit two of the UFC’s top featherweight contenders head to head, as Mexico’s Yair Rodriguez faces off against fellow former title challenger, Brian Ortega. Both contenders hit the non-title featherweight limit of 146 pounds to make their bout official.

The only issue on the scale came from both fighters involved in the planned flyweight matchup between Edgar Chairez and Daniel Lacerda, as each man failed to make weight for the bout. Lacerda missed the non-title limit by one pound, coming in at 127 pounds, but Chairez missed significantly, tipping the scale at 131 pounds, five full pounds over the contracted weight.

Later in the day – and in front of a lively Mexico City crowd – the fighters took to the stage at the ceremonial weigh-ins as they faced off for the final time before fight night.
