Cage Warriors heads north to Scotland for the first time since 2013, and it arrives in Glasgow this weekend with a huge card of fights for the Scottish fight fans to get their teeth into.

Cage Warriors 171 features a bumper 19-fight lineup, with two of Scotland’s most beloved fighters set to play a starring role at the top of the card at the Braehead Arena.

Topping the card is “The Bad Guy,” Chris Bungard, with the Scottish lightweight veteran set to take on Italy’s Dumitru Girlean.

Bungard will be competing in his 28th career fight when he makes his walk for the main event in Glasgow, and he’ll be facing a man who has already claimed the scalps of Adam Cullen and Simone Patrizi inside the Cage Warriors cage.

Also set for action is former bantamweight title challenger Reece McEwan, who is set to return to action against England’s Cameron Else.

McEwan arrived in Cage Warriors in early 2022 and reeled off four wins in a row to put himself in pole position for a shot at the promotion’s 135-pound title. But, despite a gritty effort against Liam Gittins at Cage Warriors 164, the Greenock native fell agonisingly short on the scorecards.

Now McEwan is looking to bounce back, and will be keen to pick up the win against Else, who returns to Cage Warriors for the first time since 2018 looking to return to the win column after suffering back-to-back losses in the UFC. Prior to those defeats on the big stage, Else had won six in a row, all by first-round finish.

The fight card also features a host of familiar names to longtime Cage Warriors fans, including former bantamweight title challenger Scott Malone and Carlo Pedersoli Jr, plus up-and-coming talents like Jack Eglin, Sean Clancy Jr, and MMA Fight Academy prospect Khadim Dia and Cornellius Aritonang.
