Eliezer Kubanza issues warning to Alex Lohore after Brave CF 82 heartbreak

Super-welterweight contender has set his sights on Brave CF’s newest signing.

Congolese super-welterweight contender Eliezer Kubanza wasn’t able to showcase his skills as planned at Brave CF 82, but he still made waves with an in-cage appearance during the event.

“King Kong” Kubanza was due to take on Algeria’s Karim Rabei at the event in Mauritius, but Rabei missed weight by more than six and a half pounds for their super-welterweight matchup.

The bout was still set to proceed but, after Rabei was taken ill on the morning of the fight, Kubanza was left without a dance partner for an event that many anticipated would be a coming-out party for the 5-0 talent.

While he wasn’t able to compete, Kubanza still made an appearance inside the Brave CF cage as he chatted with commentator Phil Campbell to share his thoughts on his situation.

“I’m feeling so sad. You can hear it from my voice,” he began.

“It’s been a tough three months out of my family, out of my country. I went to Bali for this fight, so I invested my money and my energy to come here and perform tonight. But unfortunately, this happened.”

Kubanza was hoping to compete on African soil and build his star power in the region. The DR Congo native has already made a name for himself with his finishing ability – all five of his professional wins have come via knockout – and, along with Nkosi Ndebele, has become one of Brave’s standard-bearers for African MMA.

“We’re so proud,” he said.

“It’s the fruit of hard work and discipline. We’ve been grinding. So we’re so proud that they look after us and they see us as role models.”

And, as his thoughts turned to the future, he had some pointed words for the newest member of Brave CF’s super-welterweight division as he looked down the camera lens and sent a message to Alex Lohore.

“This is ‘King Kong’ right here talking. There ain’t no grave that can hold my body down,” he said, referencing Lohore’s video of him digging “graves” in his backyard for his divisional rivals.

“That’s the message for that newcomer in the division. You dig the grave maybe for yourself, not for ‘King Kong.’ And if you get the job done with Marcin Bandel – who I respect a lot with him being a former champ – you come and see me.

“And trust me, I’m gonna take it out of you and you’re gonna find out who ‘King Kong’ is. Let’s go!”
