Oktagon 55 in Stuttgart will go ahead with its full 12-fight card after Friday’s official weigh-ins in Stuttgart.
The full fight card was made official for Saturday night at the Hanns-Marti-Schlever-Halle, but the session didn’t pass off without incident.
There was a huge weight miss in the co-main event, with former heavyweight contender Jeremy Kimball missing the light heavyweight limit by a colossal seven pounds for his bout against former title challenger Alexander Poppeck.
“I haven’t weighed in yet, but I’m gonna miss weight,” Kimball told Oktagon 55 Unlocked, prior to stepping on the scale.
“Yeah. I’m not making weight. I had some medical issues.”
Poppeck arrived on weight, at 205 pounds, but Kimball tipped the scale at 213 pounds. Despite Kimball’s weight miss, Oktagon officials confirmed that the bout will remain on the card and proceed, as scheduled.
The event will be headlined by Stuttgart’s own Christian Jungwirth, who faces former foe Robert Pukac in a welterweight matchup, and both men arrived on scale bang on the limit, at 171 pounds.
The rest of the fight card weighed in without any other weight misses to ensure the bout lineup for Saturday night is complete.
