Leon Edwards tells fans he’s fighting at UFC 300

UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards received a hero’s welcome at a Premier League match, and he revealed that he is set to put his title on the line on the UFC’s landmark event, UFC 300.

The tentpole show is due to take place on April 13 in Las Vegas, and Edwards, who was a special guest at Aston Villa’s home win over Burnley, paraded around the Villa Park pitch with his championship belt at halftime, as the fans showed their appreciation for the Birmingham native’s UFC title successes.

“Rocky” also conducted a quick interview on the pitch, and told fans that he will be fighting at UFC 300. He also revealed that he’s in discussions with the UFC over a potential future fight at Villa Park.

“I will defend my belt in April at UFC 300 in Vegas again, then hopefully in the summertime get a show back in Birmingham at Villa Park,” he said.

“I’m in talks with the UFC, so hopefully we can get it done.”

The UFC hasn’t officially announced Edwards’ participation at UFC 300, though it is expected that he will face Belal Muhammad at the event.
