Two English contenders will dive into the fray after the lineup for PFL Europe’s lightweight season was officially unveiled.

The eight-man lineup, which was released on social media one fighter at a time, included English contender Connor Hughes, whose only career defeat came during last season, when he was outpointed by Ireland’s Dylan Tuke in Berlin.

That defeat came in Hughes’ PFL Europe debut, but he rebounded with a strong performance to defeat Spain’s Sebas Santana Guedes at the PFL Europe Championship event in Dublin last December.

Now he’ll get a second crack at PFL Europe’s lightweight season as one of three returning fighters as he joins 2023 champion, Poland’s Jakub Kaszuba, and Austria’s Alex Chizov as sophomore PFL Europe fighters.

Hughes will return for a second season at lightweight, and he’ll be joined by fellow Englishman and PFL newcomer Kane Mousah, who was also announced as part of the upcoming lightweight season.

A 19-fight veteran who has fought for a host of notable promotions, including BAMMA, ACB, Celtic Gladiator and Bellator, has put pen to paper on a PFL contract, and will go for gold in PFL Europe’s 155-pound season.

“My ultimate goal for PFL is to take this belt, come in here, destroy everybody that’s in the tournament, and then obviously go on to the world tournament and take that belt, as well,” said Mousah.

“Look, I’ve been fighting for years now, this is my time. I’m here to show the world exactly what Kane Mousah’s about. We’re here for greatness, and we’re striving for it every single time. So let’s go all the way. Let’s go!”

Hughes and Mousah join a lineup that also includes four more newcomers, including France’s Yazid Chouchane, Spain’s Ignacio Capella, Germany’s Anatolij Baal and Italy’s Daniele Scatizzi.
