The Cage Warriors light heavyweight title will be up for grabs when the promotion heads to Manchester for its March double-header.
The second of the two shows, Cage Warriors 168, will take place in front of a packed house at the BEC Arena, where light-heavyweight contenders Andy Clamp and Matty Byfield will face off for the vacant 205-pound title.
The belt, vacated by Modestas Bukauskas after “The Baltic Gladiator’s” recall to the UFC last year, will be on the line in the main event, as the division’s two top contenders get set to face off on March 16.
Clamp moved to 12-2 with an eye-catching first-round submission finish of previously undefeated Dutch striker Ghassan Abdenabi at Cage Warriors 156 to put himself right in line for a shot at the title.
He’ll face Team Renegade’s Byfield, who hasn’t tasted defeat inside the Cage Warriors cage. The 6-1 contender has finished each of his last three opponents, and is in peak form as he goes for gold.
The matchup adds a second title fight to the Cage Warriors 168 card, with the bantamweight title clash between Liam Gittins and Roberto Hernandez already booked for March 16.
